2018 VISITS OPEN TO MEMBERS OF THE SOCIETY AND THEIR GUESTS
A Visit to the Norfolk Record Office: Wednesday May 16th 200-400pm
This is a private visit for Society members and will include a display of Cringleford related material. The numbers are limited to 20 and the cost will be £6 per person.
A Visit to the Wimpole Estate, Cambridgeshire: Wednesday June 20th (morning start)
The estate, run by the National Trust, contains a fine Hall, the Home Farm, parkland and gardens. This will be an outing by coach. The basic cost of coach and tea will be £24/25 per person plus the entrance charge for non-NT members.
A Visit to the Burston Strike School and Pulham St Mary: Wednesday July 18th at 2.00 pm
This afternoon will include a visit to the Burston Strike school; the walk that the striking children took (optional); a guided look at the Church of St Mary in Pulham St Mary and tea in the Pennoyer Centre where there is a small display of material about the airships and the village. The cost will be £6/7 which will include tea and donations to the church and the school. This visit will be by car and lifts can be arranged.

AN EVENING WALK ROUND ST. GILES, POTTERGATE & ST. BENEDICTS Wednesday May 24th 2017
This walk follows the pattern of previous walks and will again be led by Rod Spokes who will take us through the heart of the medieval city of Norwich. We will meet at the Forum at 6.30 and finish at 8pm. Numbers are limited to 20 and the cost will be £2.50 per person
VISIT TO ANGLESEY ABBEY: Wednesday June 21st 2017
This visit will begin late morning and we shall have lunch before beginning our visit to the Abbey. What was originally an Augustinian priory was run down and in a state of disrepair when Lord Fairhaven bought it in 1926. He transformed the house and furnished it with fine furniture, pictures and objets d'art. he also created now celebrated gardens which are a feature of the estate. There is also a historic working watermill.

AFTERNOON VISIT TO WEST STOW HALL: Wednesday July 19th 2017
West Stow Hall is just north of Bury St Edmund's. The gatehouse and hall are 16th century and are surrounded by well-designed gardens, woodland and an orchard. The owners moved to the house some five years ago and have spent time renovating it. We shall have a tour of the house and grounds by the owner. The cost including tea and cake is £16. Transport will be by car and lifts can be arranged.
